Calvary Chapel Green Valley Christian Academy: K-12 private school accredited by Northwest Accreditation Commission (a division of AdvanceEd), Association of Christian Teachers and Schools, and National Council for Private School Accreditation. Lead Teacher-Third Grade (August 2015-February 2017).

    • Dedicated to meeting the academic needs to each student in a learning atmosphere that was individually challenging, engaging, and inspiring to achieve academic goals and standards.   
    • Students were stimulated and encouraged to explore social development skills, academic priorities, and autonomous behavior in a safe learning environment.

  • Instructed Introduction to Psychology and Applied Sport Psychology to 150+ junior college students each semester, which included psychological theories regarding social, emotional, and developmental milestones in relation to adults and children, sport and exercise psychology mental skills training techniques, research, and methodologies.
  • Encouraged and mentored students to build interest and enthusiasm in the methods, theories, and findings of Psychology.
  • Created class guidelines and expectations in a detailed syllabus and curriculum.
  • Produced weekly lesson plans and lecture material that highlights key course material.

Adler School of Professional Psychology: Oldest independent psychology school in North America offering degrees in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) and several master’s degree programs. Professor (August 2012 – January 2013)

  • Instructed doctoral and graduate students in Introduction to Sport and Exercise Psychology.  Provided students with the philosophical underpinnings of the psychology of sport, and practical applications for applying such theories to the psychological enhancement of performance, while maintaining a socially-informed and responsible attitude towards the theory and application of such techniques.
  • Prepared lectures relevant to the evolving field of sport and exercise psychology and kept up to date with current advances in research and teaching techniques.
  • Encouraged the development of innovative approaches to course design and delivery and ensured teaching design and delivery complied with the quality and educational standards and regulations of the department.
  • Mentored students through their graduate and doctoral coursework and thesis.

Mesa Community College Men’s and Women’s Soccer Team: Mental Skills Consultant (January 2010 -May 2012)

  • Presented mental skills training services at team meetings, such as goal setting, self-talk, concentration, mental toughness, arousal management, and leadership styles.
  • Held individual counseling sessions with athletes.
  • Offered resourceful ways for each athlete to achieve personal peak performance.
  • Met with Men and Women’s head coach to co-create effective ways to communicate with the teams.

Mesa Community College Women’s Basketball Team: Practicum Student, Mental Skills Specialist (July 2008 – July 2009)

  • Provided performance enhancement services individually and in team settings that included goal setting, imagery, team building, motivation, relaxation, focus, energy management, and self-confidence to the team and individual players. This is included at-risk athletes.
  • Conferred with coaches about optimal communication strategies while working with the athletes before, during, and after competition.
  • Observed athletes’ behavior throughout the season to assess their mental skills that have been taught and implemented into the team’s program.
  • Provided mental skills training while traveling to away games with the team.
  • Co-created season-specific process, performance, and outcome goals with the team and individual athletes.  

Golf Academy of America: Professor (September 2007 – July 2009)

  • Instructed a specific population on how to apply basic sport psychology theories, methods, and training to enable them to reach peak performance as students and athletes.
  • Lectured students on the different theories and techniques of sport psychology and facilitated classroom discussions.
  • Developed course objectives, and prepared weekly lesson plans for maximum execution of course material over a 15-week course semester.   
  • Created exams and evaluations to assess the student’s understanding of the material, discussions, and applied knowledge presented in class.   

Mesa Community College: Graduate Assistant, Introduction to Sport Psychology (January 2008 -December 2008)

  • Provided class lectures on topics relevant to the discipline of sport psychology.
  • Prepared chapter notes for the professor, and graded exams, papers, and class exercises.
  • Gave feedback to a diverse array of students regarding their grades in the class and progress as a student/athlete.

Research Assistant, Sport Psychology Lab (January 2006-May 2006)

  • Coded, transcribed, and recorded data.
  • Lab duties included providing guidance to study participants, informing the participants of their ethical rights, gathering the data from the experiment, and debriefing the participant upon completion of the research study.
  • Researched the correlation between the instructions of a specific task to the success of the given task.
